Backpacking Travel

4th of July with Ex-pats

By on July 4, 2016

After the crazy adventures on the previous day, we decided to set out for an easier hike and change our plans. We ate breakfast and slowly drug ourselves towards the trail. We were hopeful and were pleasantly surprised that the trail as so much better on the way down.
Unfortunately when we got to the bottom, we had missed the bus by just a few short minutes. This gave us the opportunity to grab a bite to eat. But the next bus wasn’t until the late afternoon and we would not get anywhere we wanted in any timely manner. We spotted the family of ex-Americans coming down the mountain. We had bonded with them in the cabin before. Zach went over to see if they could possibly drop us off in Martigny. There we could possibly transport to Sion and then Arolla.
Once in Martigny we found the town to be an interesting place. There was a castle and an art museum with a Picasso exhibit and some interesting sculptures. We spent the evening exploring the town and finally settled in at a nice enough hotel. We got showers and watched GOT. I can’t believe that show.

Hi we are Zach and Jessi. Some say we are a power couple but we are just a couple of young adults trying to get by exploring the world and creating art. We have dachshunds and draw on the sidewalk. We enjoy urban and backcountry backpacking. Follow our journey as we grow and learn from our travels.
